Students:  If you plan to take vacation time over the upcoming holidays, a reminder that you will need to turn in a pre-excused absence form (blue sheet) BEFORE you leave for vacation.  Please come to the main office to pick up a blue sheet.

 

Thanksgiving is almost here, and as our way of saying thank you, the Science Club has hidden eight turkey tickets throughout the high school. If you find a turkey ticket, please redeem for one free item with Mrs. Rauterkus!  Happy hunting!

 

The Atrium/Meadowbrook at Oconto Falls is taking applications for an after school Dietary Assistant.  Please see posting on Student Services bulletin board.

 

Any students interested in applying to the OFHS chapter of National Honor Society must attend an informational meeting during lunch in Room 206.  National Honor Society is open to Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors.  See Ms. Zidon if you are interested but unable to attend the meeting.

 

The Oconto Falls Pharmacy is looking for a student to work a couple days a week after school from approximately 3:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (or possibly earlier if work release is an option) and every fourth Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Any students interested in this position should stop in to the pharmacy located at 323 E. Highland Dr. in Oconto Falls to pick up an application.

 

Reminder students – As we approach the start of this year’s rifle deer hunting season, please remember that weapons and/or ammunition are not allowed on school grounds at any time, including being stored in vehicles that are parked anywhere on school property.  If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Smith or Mr. Beschta.

 

Want to add amazing experience to your resume? There will be an informational meeting to learn about the Veterans Memorial Documentary Project. We are looking for students who are interested in creating digital media to spearhead this project. If you have an interest in photography, digital arts, writing and interviewing and podcasting this project is for you. Meet in Ms. Lawless’ room, 125 on Wednesday, November 20th after school at 3:30. If you are unable to attend, email Ms. Lawless and she will get you the information.

 

Students- student council has sent you a survey. please check your email and take it!

Students! Remember to wear purple this Wednesday to support FBLA and the March of Dimes. There will be a picture at the end of the day for everyone wearing purple. During Wednesday’s learning lab FBLA will have a coin collection so bring your change! Also, FBLA is selling purple march of dimes tshirts for $10! You can get them in tates room.

Congratulations to the 2020 All-State Choir students recently selected to be part of the All-State Treble and All-State Bass Choirs:    Isabella Rennie, Autumn Canavera, Cedar Olson, Connor Romandine, and Keith Van Dornick!  They will be performing in January at Lawrence University!

 

And…Congratulations to Keith Van Dornick who was selected to the 2020 ACDA North Central Divisional Choir from over 979 students in 5 states that auditioned!  He will be singing in the Divisional Choir in March in Milwaukee at the Divisional Convention!

 

Keith Van Dornick has been selected by her peers and faculty from Oconto Falls High School as winner of the 2019-20 Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) “Good Citizenship Award.” This award is based on leadership, dependability, service and patriotism.  Congratulations Keith.

Seniors!: The cost of your yearbook is NOT included in your class fees. You can purchase yours by seeing Mrs. Tate in room 412. For more information, posters are hung around the school or ask Mrs. Tate if you have any questions.  The yearbook cost is $50.

The Pulaski Soccer Club will be holding Registration for the upcoming season on January 30 or February 5 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Pulaski Middle School. Flyers are available in the Main Office and Student Services.

 

Students:  Oconto Electric Cooperative is inviting four high school students to attend the annual two-day Co-Ops Yes! Leadership Conference.   You will learn about co-ops, work with cooperative leaders and business professionals.  Stop in Student Services for information.

 

The City of Oconto Falls is accepting applications for summer part-time employment. You must be 16 years of age to apply with a valid driver’s license. Please see the postings by the main office and student services.

 

Students and Staff! There are still agendas available in the main office. They are free of charge. Please stop in and pick one up!

 

Choir and Band students – Please remember that your Hansen’s fundraiser orders and payment are due next Wednesday, January 23.   Delivery for pizzas and other items will be on Thursday, February 14.

 

If anyone is interested in ordering pizzas, cookie dough, or other items, please see a music student today!

 

The next blood drive of the year will be held on Thursday, January 24 from 8:30 – 1:30pm. Please sign up in the main office. If you are 16 years of age, you will need parental permission – that form is in the office, as well.

 

Seniors:  Please make sure you take a look at the Student Services bulletin board for more scholarship opportunities.

 

Seniors:  Aurora Health Foundation Scholarship is now available in Student Services.  If you plan to pursue a degree in the healthcare related field, please stop in for an application.  Due date is February 28, 2019.

 

Seniors:  The Wisconsin Czechs, Inc. awards four $750 scholarships to students whose parent, grandparent or themselves are members of Wisconsin Czechs Inc. and are Czech, Slovak, Moravian, Silesian or Ruthenian heritage.  Stop in Student Services.

Seniors: A reminder that ALL class fees including senior dues must be paid in order to pick up your cap and gown on the delivery date.

Seniors:  The Wisconsin Czechs, Inc. awards four $750 scholarships to students whose parent, grandparent or themselves are members of Wisconsin Czechs Inc. and are Czech, Slovak, Moravian, Silesian or Ruthenian heritage.  Stop in Student Services.

Seniors: A reminder that ALL class fees including senior dues must be paid in order to pick up your cap and gown on the delivery date.

Students:  Oconto Electric Cooperative is inviting four high school students to attend the annual two-day Co-Ops Yes! Leadership Conference.   You will learn about co-ops, work with cooperative leaders and business professionals.  Stop in Student Services for information.
