The City of Oconto has job openings for multiple summer positions including Park Laborers, Tour Guides, and various management positions for those 18 or older.  Applications are available online or in person through Oconto City Hall.  Applications are due April 7.   Please see the posting by Student Services and the main office.

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: This year’s Prom will be held on Saturday, April 15th at the Olde 41 – Vandervest Harley-Davidson from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. ALL OFHS Students attending will need a signed permission slip to purchase a ticket. Tickets go on sale before school on April 11th, so stop in the main office, Mrs. Nielsen’s room 128, or Mrs. Desterheft’s room 301 to get your permission slip. Also, Guest passes will be issued only from the main office. Stop in to get your guest pass as this will need to be approved prior to purchasing your guest ticket also. All tickets are $20.00 for each person.  Any questions about PROM, stop in or email Mrs. Nielsen or Mrs. Desterheft.

Students:  A representative from Holtger Brothers, Inc. from Green Bay will be in Student Services on Friday, March 31 during 4th hour and lunch.  They have opportunities in Utility Construction and also Diesel Mechanic.  Please sign up if you are interested.

Student council is hosting an Easter egg hunt! If you find a laminated Easter Egg hidden around the school between April 5th please turn it into Rm 107 or Rm 105 before school, during lunch, or after school for a chance to win a $25 dollar Kwik Trip gift card, a $15 dollar Burger King gift card or Crush soda and candy reward.

This a reminder that on days with special schedules like today and tomorrow, students must follow the bell schedule in terms of mentoring, work release, senior release, Skills Coop, and Youth Apprentice.

Students:  There will be no after-school LMC hours today.

Students:  Starting on Monday, please do not park in the last row of the student parking lot on the south side of the lot near the greenhouse.  Until the snow melts, there have been accessibility issues by the gate.  In case of an emergency, that area needs to be clear of vehicles.  Again, please do not park in the last row of parking spaces on the south side of the lot near the greenhouse and gate area.

Attention students: You have one more opportunity to participate in the Kindness Committee-sponsored event, Cards for Kids.  Sign up for Mrs. Spang-Magee’s flex on Monday, March 13th to make cards for children who are undergoing long-term hospitalization.  Card-making supplies will also be in the commons throughout next Friday, March 17th for you to make cards during study hall.  Help us spread kindness and care to some deserving kids!

Students and Staff: This is a reminder that today we will be holding an evacuation drill.  The purpose of the drill is that both students and staff know the evacuation locations and procedures.  Attendance will be taken before, after, and during the drill.   Students, please bring a coat or sweatshirt with you to homeroom.  Please keep in mind that we are visitors to the evacuation locations.  Both parishes have graciously allowed us to use their facilities today.  Please be respectful of the buildings.

Happy Wednesday of FFA Week! Today during homeroom, we are collecting goods for Kingdom Come, please put them in the boxes that are designated in your homeroom teacher’s classroom. We will count them on Friday, and winning homeroom by grade level will receive a pizza party. Tomorrow’s dress-up theme is “FLANNEL” and Friday’s is Blue and Gold. Also, today during homeroom, there will be a trivia contest. Teachers, the questions will be delivered to you during period 4 and you can return to Mr. Taylor or put them in his mailbox.

All seniors (except those in Link Crew) will report during FLEX period today to the PAC for a safety presentation by Mr. Smith and Officer Kuhn.

Congratulations to our Panther Wrestlers!  We have three OFHS Wrestlers going to the WIAA State Tournament next weekend.  Congratulations to Garrett Ganter, Cole Bozile, and Taylor Whiting!

HAPPY FFA WEEK EVERYONE! Today’s dress-up theme is “Merica”, in honor of our country and first president, George Washington. Tomorrow is Moo or Cow Print Day. Hopefully, everyone enjoyed some free cheese, sponsored by the FFA and Oconto County Dairy Promotions. Tomorrow FFA members and staff will be treated to some famous popcorn made in Oconto Falls! Get your milk Mustache Photos during lunch today, to show your support for Oconto County Dairy Farmers. Check out our posters for other activities and things happening this week.
