ACT SATURDAY TEST REMINDER:   Reminder to students taking the ACT test Saturday, December 8, 2018 be sure to have proper identification, admission ticket, calculator and two sharpened #2 pencils with you. Also, review the practice test and get a good night’s sleep prior to testing. Arrive shortly before 8:00 AM.

Students: Just a reminder that there are still agendas available in the main office. They are free of charge to students and staff. Stop up and pick one up

 

Students: If you are interested in participating in Destination Imagination there is a sign up sheet in the main office. Looking for 5-7 team members. If interested, please sign up in the main office by Tuesday.

The Oconto Falls High School Choirs will be presenting HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS XI on Saturday, December 1 in the Falls Area Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m.!  The concert will feature music by all four high school choirs and the Vocal Jazz Ensemble and include a special tribute to THE POLAR EXPRESS!  Pre-Concert music will begin at 6:10 p.m. in the Commons and feature several choir soloists.  Admission is free and we hope to see you all there!

Did you know, in Wisconsin, 84 cents of every $1 raised supports the March of Dimes!  A HUGE thank you goes out to the staff members and students who donated during the March of Dimes Miracle Moment last Friday!  We raised a total of $184.50 which will be donated to the Green Bay March of Dimes Chapter. FBLA’s next Miracle moment is on Thursday, November 29 during the wrestling meet and there are still shirts available for sale.

 

Seniors:  Ellington Mutual Insurance Company scholarship is in Student Services.  To be eligible your parents must be a policyholder of Ellington Mutual Insurance Company.  Please stop in if you qualify.

Congratulations to the Drama Team for their final performance at State this past weekend in LaCrosse.  Facing a tough panel of judges, the Panthers presented an impressive show and brought home the All-State silver award.  All cast members are reminded to pick up their costume bags from Mr. Gander before vacation.

Did you know that premature birth and all its complications are the largest contributors of infant death in the US and globally.    This Friday FBLA will be holding a collection at the beginning of first hour for the March of dimes and premature babies. Bring your dollars and change to first hour to donate!

Did you know that November is Prematurity Awareness Month and about a half a million babies are born premature or with birth defects each year in the US.

On Friday FBLA will be holding a collection at the beginning of first hour for the March of

Dimes and premature babies.

The Care Partners Country Terrace Assisted Living in Oconto is looking to fill one to two positions. The hours needing coverage are seven days a week for four hours each day in the afternoon. Ideally, this could be two positions. Please stop and check out the flyer by student services or the main office.

The after school study hours will be in the LMC until 6:00pm.

Students: You will remain in your first hour class until dismissed by the PA for our Veterans Day Ceremony. Please sit with your first hour class in the Fieldhouse. Absolutely no cell phones should be brought into the fieldhouse.

National ART Honor Society members:  Remember that poinsettia orders and monies need to be turned in to Mrs. Wallrich by Thursday, November 15.

The Care Partners Country Terrace Assisted Living in Oconto is looking to fill one to two positions. The hours needing coverage are seven days a week for four hours each day in the afternoon. Ideally, this could be two positions. Please stop and check out the flyer by student services or the main office.

Art Club members:  A reminder that your cookie dough will be delivered today–this afternoon, in the Art room.

7th hour Civic Leadership class is having a drive for soldiers across seas. Operation Care Package is looking for necessities for living such as food, games, and hygiene items. There are going to be prizes awarded to the 7th hour class that can collect the most points. First place will receive a pizza party. Second place will receive an ice cream party and third place will receive candy bars. Check posters to see what items you can bring. The Civic Leadership class will be going around collecting items during 7th hour. You have till November 12 to bring your items. Classes that are currently winning are Mrs. Elliott’s, Mr. Erickson’s, and Mrs. Dallmann’s.

Students this is to inform you that today, during the Learning Lab period, you will be taking the bi-annual BrightBytes survey.  The survey takes approximately 30 minutes to complete so please plan accordingly and bring your device to Learning Lab next Wednesday, Nov. 7.

Oconto County 4-H, a program offered through UW-Extension, will be holding an open house event called 4-H Fall Kick-Off. The event will be held on Saturday, November 10th at St. Anne’s School, 221 E Main St, Lena from 3-5pm. Come and browse the numerous project areas from chickens to bees, knitting to woodworking. Project leaders will be on hand to talk about the projects and 4-H members will be available to answer your questions about 4-H. This event is free and open to the public.

Students:  A babysitter is wanted for an occasional Friday or Saturday night.  Couple has a 1 and 3 year old.  Would like you to have own transportation and certified in CPR.  Please stop in Student Services for more information.

 

Students:  Whispering Pines is looking for students 15 years and older to help with harvesting Christmas trees and boughs.  Please see the Student Services bulletin board for information.

 

Seniors:  If you need help completing the FAFSA, College Goal Wisconsin can help.  They will be holding numerous sessions throughout this month and November which is free of charge.  Please stop in Student Services for dates and information needed to bring.

The Drama Team will be performing its one-act play “On the Edge” Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 7:00 pm, in the PAC.  Prior to the show will be the Drama Club’s annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser with serving from 5 – 6:45 pm in the commons.  Tickets will be sold at the door for the cost of $8 for dinner and show or $5 for show only.  Come on out and support this amazing group as they set their sights on returning to State!
