Four Year Old Kindergarten offers the first steps on the path to Educational Excellence.
Our 4-year-old kindergarten program is offered at Oconto Falls Elementary, Abrams Elementary and Encompass Child Care. Our curriculum is based on Wisconsin DPI Model Early Learning Standards and national Common Core Standards. Students learn foundational academic skills through Literacy Link and S.M.A.R.T. programs. Our students develop social and communication skills that meet school expectations. This program is designed to help four year old children prepare for the elementary grades through active play and the development of early learning and academic skills. The 4K program is offered in half day sessions held Monday through Friday.
The Oconto Falls Public Schools and Encompass Child Care have been in communication regarding developing a partnership as Encompass joins our community. During these conversations, we have discussed the possibility of opening a section of 4K onsite at the NEW Encompass Child Care site in Oconto Falls. The Oconto Falls Public School Board of Education will be making a decision soon about the details of the partnership including whether to offer a 4K program at Encompass. As part of this collaboration, we have included questions regarding parents' interest in having their child participate in 4K at Encompass in Oconto Falls. Once the Board makes their decision related to the different aspects of our partnership, we will share updated information with families.
