Students:  The LMC will be open after early release today.

Students: This a reminder that there will be an opportunity to ride the late transit bus for those students who would like to stay immediately after school tomorrow.  The bus will pick up at 3:30 pm.  A reminder that you MUST sign up if you plan to ride.  Again, if you plan to ride late transit tomorrow on the early release day, you must sign up by the main office.  If you have any questions, please see Mr. Moore or the main office.

Please announce: Any student that was unable to attend the ice fishing team meeting is still able to sign up. Please stop by the office sometime today.

Attention Seniors – remember to turn in your orders with payment for class shirts to Mr. Gander in Room 122. This needs to be done by Wednesday, November 16. The form can be found in Schoology, from Mr. Gander, or from the main office.

FBLA will be hosting its 2nd chapter meeting on Thursday, November 6th during flex. We ask that members sign into Mrs. Tate’s flex to attend.

Students – this is a reminder that the end of the 1st quarter is next week Friday, November 4, and all missing work needs to be submitted by next Wednesday, November 2. Please talk to your teachers if you have any questions about your work or grades. Students – let’s finish the quarter well!

Football Players- The football banquet will be on Sunday, November 6th at 6:00 pm. It is open to all football players in Grades 9-12. Please pick up a form in Coach Bohl’s room and return it by Friday, November 4th. The cost for dinner is $14 dollars per person. Please see Coach Bohl if you have any questions.  

Seniors: If you plan to apply for The Lioness Scholarship, the required Avenue of Lights participation is right around the corner. Decorating is Saturday, Nov. 5, and then intermittently after that until the lighting ceremony on November 26. Please stop in Student Services for information.

Hey, Panther Fans! Is anyone interested in being a Manager for the Boys’ Basketball team? You can earn a varsity letter and help out your team! Please let Mr. Rickert or Mrs. Nielsen know and they will give you all the information. Practice starts on Monday, November 14th. GO PANTHERS!

Good Morning Oconto Falls, and Happy Halloween from the Kindness Committee! We hope you enjoyed your sweet treat walking into school this morning!  Around the school, positive messages on sticky notes have been scattered to spread kindness, so if you see one that catches your eye, don’t be afraid to take it, they may even have some fun seasonal puns on them! Keep spreading kindness, and have a Happy Halloween. Go Panthers!

The Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin recently announced that Kate Pytleski, Kenadee Seidl, Kloeigh Seidl, and Taylor Miller from Oconto Falls High School earned Academic All-State honors for the recently concluded fall 2022 girls’ golf season. Congratulations to these students on receiving this much-deserved recognition!

Students:  Cheer Tryouts for Winter Season will be held on November 2 and 3 in the Old Gym from 3:45 – 5:30.  Please see Coach Kruse with any questions.  

Science Club is hosting a Halloween dress-up contest. Dress up in your best school-appropriate Halloween costume. Prizes for 1, 2, and 3 places will be given. On Monday (Halloween), Your first-hour teacher will take the nominated best costume for your class. Then during Flex, you will vote from the nominated list! Additionally, you will vote on our staff’s best costume.  Costumes must be “school appropriate” in terms of modesty and body coverage;  they may not include any type of prop that resembles a weapon, and masks may need to be removed at times at the discretion of the staff.  Happy Halloween!

The OFHS Kindness Committee would like to thank everyone for a generous round of donations yesterday for the Pulaski burn victims.  The total so far is $205.25 with the seniors currently in the lead. There will be one more round of collections happening during our next homeroom on Wednesday, November 9th.  If you would like to donate money between now and then, the buckets are located in student services for you to donate during a convenient time.  A staff bucket has also been added! 

A US Navy representative will be in the commons during lunch today. If interested stop by their table.

Any Seniors that are interested in pursuing the automotive industry and would like a job, please see Mrs. Tate.

Science Club is hosting a Halloween dress-up contest. Dress up in your best school-appropriate Halloween costume. Prizes for 1, 2, and 3 places will be given. On Monday (Halloween), Your first-hour teacher will take the nominated best costume for your class. Then during Flex, you will vote from the nominated list! Additionally, you will vote on the teacher’s best costume, they wear these costumes periodically. Costumes must be “school appropriate” in terms of modesty and body coverage;  they may not include any type of prop that resembles a weapon, and masks may need to be removed at times at the discretion of the staff.  Happy Halloween!

There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, November 1 at 3:30 pm in Room 119 for the new Ice Fishing Team.  Anyone interested in joining the team should attend.  If you plan on participating in a winter sport, you can still join the team.

ATTENTION ALL PANTHER FANS! There will be a FREE Student fan bus to Tomahawk on Thursday, October 27th to cheer on our Regional Champion Volleyball team for their Sectional match vs Tomahawk.  The bus SIGN UP is in the main office. There are 48 spots, first come, first serve. The bus dismissal time will be announced as soon as possible. Please sign up by 8:00am Thursday morning.  Students, please remember that if you ride the bus to the game you must ride the bus back home.  There will be a stop at Kwik Trip on the way home! The admission ticket to the game will be sold at the door ONLY and it will be $7.00 for everyone. SIGN UP TODAY! GO PANTHERS!

An announcement on behalf of OFHS’s Kindness Committee: As most of you may have heard, there was an incident involving MULTIPLE Pulaski High School Students. An unfortunate event with irresponsible decisions at a bonfire resulted in many students spending multiple nights in the hospital and even the Milwaukee Burn Center. 

This Wednesday during homeroom, members of the Kindness Committee will be walking around with buckets for you to give donations if you would like to donate money to the students and families affected by the fire. There will be another donation collection on Wednesday, November 9th during homeroom as well. Donation buckets will also be placed in the school in a To Be Determined location for anyone who would like to donate between the 2 collection days. Any donations are very much appreciated! The grade that donates the most will be given a PRIZE for their generosity and kindness.

Students: There is a resident in Oconto Falls looking for someone to shovel their sidewalk during the winter months. This is a paying job. Please stop in Student Services for more information.

CONGRATULATIONS to our Panther volleyball team who defeated Mosinee in straight sets to become the WIAA Division 2 REGIONAL CHAMPIONS!! The team will take on Tomahawk on Thursday for the Sectional semi-final. The match will be at Tomahawk High School. Stay tuned for more information regarding tickets and possibly a fan bus if there is enough interest! GREAT JOB PANTHERS!!

THE FITNESS CENTER WILL BE CLOSED AFTER SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 20TH. PLEASE DO NOT STAY AFTER SCHOOL TO USE THE FITNESS CENTER ON THURSDAY. IT WILL ONLY BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC FROM 6:00 TO 8:00 P.M. ON THURSDAY. It will be reopened next week for student use from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. THANK YOU.

Students:  A reminder that if you plan to ride late transit, you must sign up each day that you plan to ride.

Mission and Impact National FFA Conference at the Chula Vista in Wisconsin Dells permission forms are now on the table by the FFA Board, please pick one up and get it returned in the next two weeks.

Attention Juniors: If you have not turned in your field trip form for the ACP class trip to NWTC and UWGB, please turn this into the main office by Wednesday, Oct 19. If you plan to get lunch at UWGB, you need to turn in $5 with your form. Also, any seniors interested in attending the field trip, please sign up in student services and pick up the form. If you have any questions about the trip, please see Mrs. Plank or Mrs. Tate.
